Once again, our diverse range of supporters showed up for the young women of Yoga, Literature, and Art Camp (YLA) at Spelman College Museum of Fine Art by participating in our donation based, Community Yoga Class and Fundraiser for YLA.
Yoga teachers, studio owners, practitioners, educators, businesses, and the Spelman community arrived at the Museum at 6:30 pm and had an opportunity to explore the current exhibition, Black Chronicles II while mixing and chatting with both familiar and new yoga practitioners across Atlanta.
The night officially began with Red Clay Yoga Board Member, Shane Roberts welcoming the community, articulating the vision and background of the Georgia based non-profit, and sharing the purpose of the organization while offering the different ways in which the community can volunteer.
The yoga practice then began with Chelsea introducing the supporting staff for YLA Camp 2016 by introducing yoga instructors, volunteers, and the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art supporting staff including Curator of Education for the museum, Makeba Dixon-Hill.
The night was filled with enthusiasm, love, and genuine interest to contribute to a space that uses yoga as a tool to cultivate community.
If you did not have the opportunity to join on the 26th and still want to support, please visit Red Clay Yoga’s “Ways of Giving” today.
